A PRESTWICH author is embarking on a book signing tour across Northern England.

Michael Knaggs, who completed his crime trilogy Hotel St Kilda at the end of 2016, is appearing at events across the North West and Yorkshire as part of a three month tour.

His three separate Hotel St Kilda stories, Catalyst, Heaven’s Door and Lost Souls, form a saga of crime, politics and the military.

They follow the life of London MP Tom Brown, as his attempts to bring about major law reforms lead him into perilous and murderous circumstances, invading both his personal and professional lives.

Mr Knagg’s tour began in Ormskirk on October 28 and he will visit a number towns and cities across the region, including three book signings in Bury at Waterstones on November 5, Tesco on December 12, and WH Smith on December 16, and a ‘Meet the Author’ event hosted by Bury U3A at the Manna House on November 15.

Mr Knaggs said: “It’s been a great experience for me fulfilling a life-long ambition to become an author – even though I was a very late starter.

“A large part of the enjoyment has been the many book signing events, the talks with local library groups and the meetings with various book clubs and leisure groups – all of which I’ve enjoyed immensely.”

Mr Knaggs was a cereal factory worker before becoming a serial killer novelist, employed as a human resources director at Kellogg’s in Old Trafford.

He retired 10 years ago but has no plans to slow down.

The writer lives in Prestwich with his wife of 46 years, Carol, an artist who has produced the cover designs for Mr Knagg’s books.

“I’m extremely grateful for the support I’ve received from the local stores and group organisers and, of course, all the people who have bought my books and provided me with such encouraging feedback,” said Mr Knaggs

“They’ve spurred me on to the extent that I’m now working on a fourth book – a sequel to the trilogy.”

Michael Knaggs will also appear at book signings at York WH Smith on November 11, St Margaret's Church Christmas Fair in Prestwich on November 18, St George’s Church Christmas Fair in Simister on November 25, Hull WH Smith on December 1, Beverly WH Smith on December 2, and Bolton WH Smith on December 9.
