A £6,000-a-year primary school still does not meet the expected standards.

Prestwich Preparatory School was inspected in November after the school appealed the results of an inspection earlier in the year.

An Ofsted report in March labelled the school as inadequate, saying it failed to meet independent schools regulations.

Last month the school was inspected again and Ofsted still found the fee-paying school was lacking. The report published this month says ‘the school does not meet all of the independent school standards that were checked’.

Inspector Helen O’Neill’s report also found the school still had no way to assess pupil’s work to improve progress. The school was found lacking in terms of the quality of leadership.

However, since the February inspection, the £6,048-a-year school has improved in that it now offers a suitable sick room for pupils. The previous one did not have a sink. The school’s management was also seen to have progressed and the school was found to be promoting the well-being of pupils.

At the time of publication the school had not yet responded to a request for comment.
