A DAY nursery in Ramsbottom which shut two months ago is looking for new owners so that it can reopen again.

The sudden closure of Daisy Chains Day Nursery, located in Kay Brow in Ramsbottom, back in November, left more than 20 families seeking new childcare alternatives for their children.

The children’s centre provided care for youngsters aged three months to five years.

Michela Ellery, 48, whose granddaughter attended the nursery, said at the time: “We’re devastated.

“Having to explain it to her and then watching her little face as she processed it all and realised she wasn’t seeing her friends anymore was heartbreaking.

“I feel for all the staff. I’ve never had cause to complain about the nursery. The staff are brilliant and have been amazing. Their priority has been to ensure these children transition into other nurseries.”

The nursery provided care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which sets the framework for the learning, development and care of children from birth to five years.

It received a rating of ‘good’ following an Ofsted inspection in November, 2014.

It has now been placed on the market for £10,000 and current owner, Rebecca Priestman, who ran Daisy Chains for more than 10 years, has allocated Bury-based Blacks Business Brokers the task of finding new ownership.

Anthony Meadowcroft, business department manager at Blacks Business Brokers, said: “Daisy Chains Nursery was an integral part of the local community for two decades and was well-known for its child-centred, personalised approach.

“Looking to the future, this well-appointed, fully equipped nursery’s location and heritage offer a superb opportunity for a new owner to re-open the business, or for another existing nursery operator to expand into this affluent, well-connected area.”
