A HOUSE chimney was on fire in Walshaw, Bury, late this afternoon (January 30).
A fire investigation has been launched after crews from Bury were called to the property in Hall Street.
The two residents had self-evacuated by the time firefighters arrived.
It is understood there was a hole in the lining of the chimney flue which caused smoke to enter the roof space of the house.
