AN UNSWORTH primary school has won £750 to spend.

Bury & Whitefield Jewish Primary School won the Mill Gate's Shop for Schools competition, coming top of the leaderboard.

Shoppers, pupils and parents had the opportunity to gain points for their favourite school by collecting tokens for every £1 spent in Mill Gate shops and restaurants.

Rafi Radnor and Alessandra Guerini was delighted to accept the cheque on behalf of the school from Mill Gate’s manager Marie Gribben.

Marie said; “It has been a great initiative to run in the centre and to see the enthusiasm of parents, pupils and our shoppers.

"This is now on our annual calendar of events and look forward to running the next one starting in October 2018."

The Mill Gate Shopping Centre kept shoppers up to date on the competition's progress with a leaderboard in the mall.

The school in Parr Lane was one of 12 competing for the prize.

Bury & Whitefield Jewish Primary School was established in 1984 by a group of parents as a Jewish school for the community. The School has grown and developed and provides excellent state education.
