THE magic of theatre can be enjoyed by the whole family at The Met, Bury, this half-term.

Three top quality touring children’s theatre shows will be at the venue giving three different opportunities for young people — and big kids — to enjoy entertaining and inventive theatre.

On Saturday, February 17 the puppet play Yana and the Yeti will take to the stage.

Originally produced in Norway, this dialogue-free show tells the story of young girl Yana and her adventures in a remote snowy village. Dark, funny and touching, and featuring exquisite music and extraordinary puppet work, the show is performed by puppetry specialists Pickled Image Theatre Company. It is suitable for children aged five and over.

On Tuesday, February 20 the theatre presents Aaaaaaaaaaaaagh! Dinosaurs!./

It is a one-man play created and performed by Dommy B — poet Dominic Berry — and is an action comedy poetry adventure for children aged five-plus.

The show tells the tale of a town attacked by destructive, deadly dinosaurs. The heroine is a young troll girl who recruits a wizard and a dragon to defend her home. But can she save the day and calm the dino’s raging reign?

On Friday, February 23, the theatre welcomes Little Blue Monster Theatre Company back to Bury with Lost and Found. Based on Oliver Jeffers’ award-winning picture book, the show tells the story of a boy who adopts a lost penguin and takes it home to the south pole. But when they get there, the boy discovers that maybe home isn’t what the penguin was looking for.

Little Blue Monster had a huge success in Bury in December with their sell-out Christmas production Santa’s Little Helper, and Lost and Found promises to be just as popular. Recommended for ages three years plus. Tickets cost £10 for children, £12 for adults.
