A FEW affordable homes are still available at developments in Radcliffe and Bury.

The homes have been constructed by Bellway Homes, in association with Bury Council, at Salisbury Fields in Radcliffe and Tudor Grange on Bury and Bolton Road.

Prospective buyers would get a 25 per cent discount off the full market price of selected plots through Bury Council’s Affordable Housing Scheme.

Seventy five per cent of the affordable homes have already been sold at Salisbury Fields, but four three-bedroom properties are still available.

A small selection of three and four-bedroom affordable homes also remain at Tudor Grange.

To qualify for the Affordable Housing Scheme potential purchasers must have been residing in the Bury borough for six months consecutively, have no record of former rent arrears with the council, or history of anti-social behaviour, and should not already own a property.

To register applicants must complete an online form, and those successful must live in the property throughout ownership.

The properties cannot be rented out, but can be sold at any time, and resales will also be subject to the same process and discount.

Councillor Eamonn O’Brien, cabinet member for finance and housing, said: “One of our highest priorities is to increase the supply of affordable housing, which is vital in ensuring that Bury continues to be a great place in which to live, work and study. We are delighted that our partnership with Bellway Homes is bearing fruit and these new houses are proving so popular with Bury residents.”
