AN APPLE Mac Book has spontaneously burst into flames at a property in Astley Bridge.
The incident occurred at around 8.30pm, and no one was injured and no further damage was done to the property in Ullswater Street.
The computer was not plugged in to a power source when it self combusted, and it is understood to have been bought recently from an Apple Store.
Following the incident a spokesman for Bolton North fire service, reminded people of the importance of having working smoke alarms in their property.
He said: "There was no damage done to the house, but there were no working smoke alarms in the property, so we fitted them.
"If it had happened when the occupiers were in bed it would have been a totally different story.
"They were very lucky that they were in."
