A RAMSBOTTOM-based theatre group’s latest play will open this weekend.

The Summerseat Players performance of Arthur Miller’s classic play Death of a Salesman, will debut at the Theatre Royal from Saturday.

The play, directed by Garyk Barnett, addresses loss of identity and a man’s inability to accept change within himself and society.

The narrative follows Willy Loman, a travelling salesman of 34 years who seems to have achieved very little in his life.

As the play - which is set as a montage of memories, dreams, confrontations, and arguments - opens, the audience discover Willy is now tired and disillusioned with his life and certain members of his family.

The audience is then taken on a journey through the last 24 hours of Willy’s life, leading to disastrous circumstances.

The play will be performed at the theatre, in Smithy Street, Ramsbottom, across six nights from Saturday until Saturday, March 24, excluding this Sunday.

The performances will begin at 7.45pm each night.
