ASPIRING doctors, nurses and paediatricians from across the region gathered at a prestigious North West Medical event at Bury College.

The pupils from Years 10 and 11 at 10 Greater Manchester high schools, enjoyed a day of four medical related workshops including emergency medical assistance, diagnostics, anatomy and medical ethics.

Organised by MCS Projects Ltd, the tasks shared knowledge and practical skills such as how to respond to ethical situations, examine x-rays, use stethoscopes, and perform CPR.

Evie Gray, aged 15 from Wardle Academy, said: "The event has been interesting and I really liked taking part in the practical activities.

"My favourite bit was learning how to perform CPR and it has given me the confidence to use these skills in the real world."

Anna Harris, a science teacher from Middleton Technology School, added: "Today has been a good experience for our six school pupils and has inspired them to start making early preparations for the future."
