A MAN has been fined £200 after pleading guilty to breaching a community protection notice.

John Quinn, aged 46, of Whitefield Road, Bury, was banned from going to an address in Ripon Close, Whitefield, but ignored the order between July 7 last year and March 4.

Manchester magistrates also ordered him to pay £115 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to failing to to comply with notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

Manchester magistrates also told Christopher Barrow, aged 33, of Birch Street, Bury, that he must pay £170 in costs and charges.

A MAN convicted of assaulting a woman in February has been sentenced to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work by Manchester magistrates.

Dean Platt, aged 32, of Hazel Avenue, Bury, had initially denied two offences of assault, but changed his plea to guilty.

A DRIVER who used a car without insurance has been fined £400 by Manchester magistrates.

Liam O'Connor, aged 28, of Westminster Avenue, Radcliffe, was caught driving a Ford Fiesta without insurance on Bury New Road on July 11 last year.

He was convicted under the single justice procedure, six penalty points were added to his licence and he was ordered to pay £125 in costs and charges.

A MAN who used threatening behaviour towards a police officer on April 12 has been sentenced to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.

A MOTORIST who was banned from holding a driving licence has been electronically tagged after he was caught behind the wheel of a Renault Clio on Brandlesholme Road on February 21.

At Manchester Magistrates' Court Waqar Hasan, aged 20, of Kingsbury Close, Bury, pleaded guilty to driving whilst banned and having no insurance.

He was sentenced to a 7pm to 7am curfew for eight weeks, banned from applying for a driving licence for nine months and ordered to pay £170 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to nine weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months after he was driving a car and failed to provide police with a breath specimen.

Karl Murphy, aged 30, of Mossfield Close, Bury, admitted committing the offence on January 9.
