PLANNERS will decide whether to give controversial plans for six new terraced homes the go ahead on Tuesday after visiting the proposed site of the development.
Applicant Raheela Parveen wants to build the houses on land next to the Towler Inn, in Walmersley Road, Limefield.
But the proposals have met with significant opposition from residents. Some 70 people have signed a petition about the impact of the development.
Complaints include concerns over access, disturbance during the construction phase and “woefully inadequate” parking.
Members of Bury Council’s planning control committee chose to defer the decision at its last meeting so they could view the plot for themselves.
But officers are advising the committee to approve the application provided Mrs Parveen agrees to make money available for recreation facilities as a condition of the planning permission.
