A COLLEGE is turning into Rydell High for one night only for an exclusive drive-in screening of Grease.

The classic 70’s flick will be shown at Accrington and Rossendale College from 9.30 on July 4 to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

After gates open at 8pm the film will be shown outdoors where moviegoers can drive in, park up and tune in their radios to the audio, before sitting back, relaxing and enjoying the film.

Or you can channel your inner Travolta and sit on the roof or bonnet of your car.

Refreshments will be provided by the college’s catering students who are cooking up 50s American Dinner inspired food and drinks including hotdogs, burgers, fries and milkshakes.

Visitors will also have the option of in-car-service, where they can order food right to their vehicle via an app.

Hair and beauty students will be on site throughout the day creating 50s makeup and hairstyles for those who wish to come in fancy dress.

Charlotte Scheffmann, assistant principal at the college, said: “We are thrilled to be hosting an exclusive drive-in screening of Grease. We will be offering something fun, new and exciting to the town which we really hope people come and support.”

The showing has a strict limit of 120 vehicles and tickets are £25 for a standard family car.
