PREPARATIONS have begun ahead of this year’s Tottington’s Big Day Out event.

Thousands of revellers descended on Tottington St John’s Cricket Club last year to enjoy food, drink and entertainment at the popular annual event.

And organisers have now confirmed that it will return on Sunday, July 1.

Six artists will perform across the afternoon, while there will also be a barbecue, beer tent, and a range of stalls and activities.

Among the musicians performing will be Laurel Canyon, Leah B, Bronx, Well Said, and Tottington Public Band.

Younger visitors will not be left out either with a bouncy castle, face painting and hook a duck to keep them entertained.

Organiser Scott Parkinson said: “I would like to express our thanks - both to all the volunteers who work really hard leading up to the event and to the public/community of Tottington. We are so pleased this event has become a popular date in the community calendar - it was always our intention for it to be an inclusive celebration and fun day for everyone.

"We are looking forward to this year’s music, but the day is so much more than the bands on stage - the great feeling of community is one we should cherish and be rightly proud of. Here’s to it being the best yet!”

The event will take place from 12pm-6.30pm. Entry is £1 and parking is available at Tottington High School.

Money raised will go towards St Anne’s Church and St. John’s Cricket Club.
