A FORMER newsagents is seeking new tenants.

Located on Bridge Street, Ramsbottom, the premises of the former Bridge Street News has been put on the market to let by Bury-based business transfer specialists Blacks Business Brokers.

Blacks is now searching for an entrepreneurial tenant to bring the business back to life.

The property currently has A1 planning permission enabling a broad range of retail uses from sandwich shops to funeral directors, and is being offered at £336 weekly rent, or £17,472 per year.

In addition to the commercial premises on the ground floor, the property also includes a self-contained two-bed flat.

Joanne Booth, director of Blacks Business Brokers, said: “The property is in a fantastic, bustling location at the top of Bridge Street and would suit a wide range of uses. The flat above the premises is a real bonus too – located right in the town centre it could either be used as owner’s accommodation or let out as an additional source of revenue.”

The property is on the market with Blacks Business Brokers, who recently completed the sale of the former Topping's Butchers on Bolton Street, which is set to be transformed into a ladies' fashion boutique later this summer.

The firm has also let out the former Yummy Chinese Takeaway on Bridge Street which, under new tenant Vanessa Smith, plans to reopen as a gin bar.

Joanne Booth said: “The market in Ramsbottom is really booming at the moment, particularly for town centre retail and leisure premises. We have seen a fantastic start to the year here, with new businesses set to open up and add to the town’s offering, and I have no doubt that the strength of demand here will result in more new ventures opening in Ramsbottom over the coming months.”
