MORE than 80,000 music fans have been enjoying the ninth Parklife Festival in Heaton Park.

And the Parklife Festival nears its end in a couple of hours for another year, we look through the highlights over the past two day

A homecoming performance by Liam Gallagher topped today's bill with fans enjoying music from Skepta, Chvrches and Everything Everything.

A main stage performance from The XX and a surprise set from Skepta during A$AP Rocky’s headline slot rounded off a sun-kissed first day of Parklife Festival yesterday.

Further highlights of Saturday included Pharrell-fronted group N*E*R*D inviting a group of excited fans on stage for their final song ‘Lemon’ — following a set which included iconic tracks ‘Rockstar’ - while Lorde showcased an array of tracks from her ‘Melodrama’ album. MNEK wowed the Parklife Stage audience with his head to toe pink ensemble and sing-a-long anthem ‘Ready For Your Love’, with the festival’s brand new stage ‘The Valley’ boasting a production based around a Bladerunner-esque cityscape.

Local artists IAMDDB and LEVELZ drew in huge crowds — as did Giggs and AJ Tracey, with fellow Mancunian Bugzy Malone, urging fans to shine the lights on their phones in memory of those who lost their lives in last year’s attack.

Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham also welcomed a moving tribute from Prose featuring the Manchester Survivor’s Choir who performed their charity single ‘A City United’.
