POLICE officers are searching a landfill site in Bury as part of the ongoing investigation into the Manchester Arena attack.
Officers are at Viridor Waste Management site in Pilsworth, close to junction three of the M66.
A tactical aid unit van and another two Greater Manchester Police vehicles have been spotted outside.
It is part of the ongoing search for the blue suitcase used by Salman Abedi in the days before last year's attack, which left 22 dead and more than 100 injured, at the end of an Ariana Grande concert.
A CCTV image released by police last year showed Abedi holding the suitcase in Manchester city centre on the day of the attack.
In the days following, forensics officers combed the same site, off Pilsworth Road.
A spokesman for GMP said the search was not related to last week's terror arrests in Whitefield.
They added: "Officers are currently carrying out a follow-up search at a landfill site in Bury in relation to the ongoing investigation into the Arena attack."
