FIVE men have been charged with conspiring to commit robberies including at banks in Ramsbottom and Walkden

On Thursday police raided properties in Little Hulton and Leigh as part of an investigation in to a series of armed robberies that occurred Santander in Bolton Street, Ramsbottom, a bank in Walkden and and the attempted robbery of a bank in Moss Side between September 2017 and April 2018.

Six people were arrested and five have now been charged and are due to appear before Manchester magistrates today.

They are: Jack Pennington, aged 28, of Carrfield Avenue, Little Hulton; Tomas Kean, aged 52, of Green Lane, Leigh; Lucas Dodd, aged 18, of Dovecote Lane, Little Hulton; David Oxton, aged 23, of Longshaw Lane, Little Hulton; Robert White, aged 28, of Peel Park Crescent, Little Hulton.

A 32-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to robbery has been released under investigation.
