BURY College received an exclusive invitation to attend a Parliamentary reception after its success at this year’s Festival of Learning Awards.
Bury College and partners Bury Adult Learning were invited to the drinks and canapés reception after two of their Big Lottery Funded community projects were named winners of the Festival of Learning Project Award — a celebration of lifelong learning.
The awards recognised how Changing Lives and No Barriers supported adults across Bury through training and study.
The event highlighted the importance of adult learning and its community benefits.
Rebecca Albrow, No Barriers Coordinator, said: “The Parliamentary reception was a fantastic opportunity to highlight the exceptional work we are doing in Bury and showcase the partnerships that are being strengthened as a result of the project.
“We were absolutely delighted to have had the opportunity to meet with MPs and discuss how we can make a sustainable impact on supporting adults in our community.”
