BURY North MP James Frith may have left his life as lead singer in a rock band behind, but that has not stopped him going on tour this summer.

The MP, who took to the stage at Glastonbury back in 2003 as the frontman of his band Finka, is kicking off Parliament’s summer recess with a tour of all villages in the north of the borough to meet with residents and discuss their concerns.

The tour, which will take place on Sunday, July 29, will include stops in Nangreaves, Walmersley, Holcombe, Hawkshaw, Affetside, Walshaw, Summerseat and Greenmount, and will be hosted in local pubs and other community spaces.

James said: “I launched the Big Conversation as part of my promise to improve life and living standards in Bury, Tottington and Ramsbottom.

"I’ll be getting out in every community to discuss the issues that matter most to local people and take action.

"This village tour is part of a wider programme and I look forward to meeting lots of residents. Come along to raise any issues with me or just say hello over a drink.”
