SAM Allardyce made his Bury FC debut last night against Everton, but it wasn't the former England manager who returned to frustrate his old club.

Instead, it was Big Sam's grandson, a 17-year-old defender and former Manchester United academy trainee, who helped the Shakers to a 1-1 draw against the Premier League side.

Little Sam came on in the 81st minute of the game, alongside fellow youngster Callum Dolan, for first teamers Adam Thompson and Stephen Dawson.

Bury went ahead against the Toffees in the 43th minute after a cross was brought down by Neil Danns who finished past veteran goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg.

Marco Silva's side would level in the middle of the second half, after a period of pressure led substitute forward Oumar Niasse to hit the post on three separate occasions, before finding a low shot after a block by keeper Joe Murphy.

Big Sam left Everton in May last year after pressure from supporters and criticism of his style of play.
