THREE men who were arrested following reports of a raid by masked men at a pub in Bury have been released on bail.

Police are investigating a burglary at the Swan & Cemetery in Manchester Road in the early hours of Friday, July 13.

Owners called the police at 7am that same morning after discovering the break-in.

A number of offenders had broken into the pub and stolen a large quantity of money from a safe, before fleeing the scene in a stolen car.

Officers investigating the raid arrested two men, aged 32 and 33, on suspicion of burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and drug offences.

They also arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of burglary.

A police spokeswoman said: "All three men have since been bailed until August 10, 2018, pending further enquiries.

"Our enquiries into the full circumstances around this incident are ongoing."
