THE Tottington Centre and Community Library has raised £1,500 by holding a book sale at the weekend.
The event, described as ‘Bury’s Biggest Book Sale’, was held in the centre’s car park, off Market Street, on Sunday.
Local author James P. Sumner attended the sale and signed copies of his latest book for visitors.
All money raised will go towards the £22,000 needed to operate the centre.
Volunteer group, the Friends of Tottington Library, took over the centre in February and continues to hold regular fundraising events.
Its next event - a Ladies Lunch, with a singer, fashion show and cookery demonstration - will be held at Greenmount Golf Club on September 16. Tickets are £25 and are available at the centre.
