Storm Arwen is causing road closures and traffic delays in the area.
The M62 junction 21 and 22 was closed in the early hours of this morning after more than 120 HGV trucks got stuck in the snow.
On the North West Motorway Police social media, they stated snow ploughs and gritters were going to the clear the road.
The motorway is still closed and all vehicles are being turned back down to junction 21.
The M62 is also currently closed at juntion 7 and 8 after a HGV was involved in a road traffic collision.
The police, fire and ambulance were at the scene, both the driver and passenger were taken to hospital.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
The carriageway will remain closed for a period of time.
