STAFF at a pet crematorium in Bury have been honoured at the latest Made in Manchester Awards.

Legacy Pets won "Team of the Year", their third award in less than 12 months, after receiving praise from pet lovers across Bury since its founding in 2018.

The crematorium previously won the Best Customer Service Award and Best Cremation Services in England from the Corporate LiveWire Manchester and North West Prestige Awards.

Nick Evans, Operations Manager of Legacy Pets, said: "We were actually nominated for this award by our wonderful marketing manager, Jodie Reeve, who thought that, with this being such a difficult and unusual job, we deserved some credit for what we've done.

"Everyone here is a big animal lover and we believe they deserve the same dignity as humans when they pass away and think they should get the full superstar treatment.

"As soon as we knew we were the winners of this award, we were of course overjoyed and I was incredibly happy for the whole team, who have done amazing work.

"To be honest, I don't know anyone would not want to have the most respectful and dignified funeral arrangements and cremation services possible.

"After all, you have paid to feed and keep them just like children so I see no reason why they don't deserve the kind of service we provide.

"I'm very proud to be a part of this and I'm glad we've received some recognition."

Jodie Reeve, Marketing Manager of Legacy Pets said: "This is now our third award in less than 12 months and we could not be prouder. We would like to raise awareness of our business and to encourage pet lovers to use our services – where their pets would be cared for by our Award Winning team. "
