East Lancashire Railway (ELR) could be in line for a major tourism award.
The popular attraction is shortlisted in one of 13 categories for the fifth annual Lancashire and Blackpool Tourism Awards which have attracted a record number of entries.
The railway is among 87 tourism businesses and organisations from across the county to enter the prestigious awards. The previous best entry was 77 last year.
ELR is on a shortlist of four for the coveted Best Tourism Experience of the Year category for its Santa Steam Specials. The three other nominations in the category are: the Downy Duckling Experience, WWT Martin Mere, Ormskirk; the Inside Spa, Nelson; and the Morecambe Bay Cross Walks.
The awards ceremony is to be held on June 18 at Blackburn Rovers Football Club, hosted by BBC North West Tonight co-presenter Ranvir Singh.
