Brian happy to stay at Bury

11:21pm Friday 27th June 2008

BRIAN Barry-Murphy has turned down offers from other clubs to stay with Bury.

The Irish midfielder, one of the longest-serving players at Gigg Lane, will sign a new deal on Monday.

Boss Alan Knill said: "I spoke to Murph while I was away and he said he wanted to stay.

"He's had offers from other clubs but he wants to stay here and we are delighted."

The Bury boss admitted, however, that not all the deals he has made this summer have run so smoothly.

"Agents can be a problem," he said. "They have their own ideas of what the players should get which is sometimes unrealistic.

"It can be quite difficult but we are trying to resolve those little things because most of the players have agreed. It is just the incidentals."
