Radcliffe Boro 1 Bury 4 A TRIO of Bury trialists caught the eye as the Shakers romped to an easy victory in their first pre-season game of the summer.
Strikers Phil Marsh and Gary Wales both scored to impress manager Alan Knill while midfielder Michael Jones, formerly of Tranmere, also caught the eye with some slick passing.
Marsh, a former Manchester United trainee who was released by Blackpool over the summer, opened the scoring on 19 minutes when he cut inside his marker on the edge of the area and curled a left-footed effort into the top corner.
And it was another trialist who doubled Bury's lead when former Kilmarnock striker Gary Wales finished in style after Richie Baker had dispossessed Lee Connell and set the Scottish striker free.
New signings Ryan Cresswell, Efe Sodje and Stephen Dawson all played the first 45 minutes of the game and looked impressive acquisitions.
Glynn Hurst added a brace in the second-half, with both goals coming from Jack Dorney crosses.
Boro did not really threaten their League Two neighbours, but managed a consolation goal when midfielder Mark Jones headed home a cross from the right with two minutes remaining.
Bury are back in action on Saturday when they welcome Huddersfield Town to Gigg Lane, 3pm kick-off.
