The outline of a building which is familiar to us today begins to take shape in this photograph from the archives.
You are looking at construction work on the corner of Newport Street and Victoria Square in Bolton town centre.
We don’t have an exact date for the picture but we think it’s from the mid 1960s. At the time traffic still flowed along Victoria Square and Newport Street.
Can anyone remember what the first business was to occupy the new building?
