PUPILS at Castlebrook High School in Unsworth certainly made all the right moves during a sponsored all-day dance marathon.
And the excited youngsters welcomed Coronation Street actress Samia Smith, who plays Maria Connor, to their successful MARADAN event to celebrate the school’s 25h anniversary.
Money raised will go towards the cost of updating the science classrooms at the Parr Lane school.
The event was the brainchild of school governor Rob Dawson who, along with enterprise co-ordinator Christine Lawlor and the enterprise team, planned the day which was enjoyed by all.
The school sports hall was transformed to resemble The Ministry of Sound, complete with smoke machines and laser light shows which gave the venue a night club feel.
The gym area was used as a chill-out zone where pupils could watch films, complete quizzes and relax and re-charge their batteries.
Castlebrook Street Dancers opened the event and a young up-and-coming artist, TWITCH, rounded off the morning session.
To start the afternoon, the school rock band, The Shamz, made their debut and a Kylie tribute artist kept the staff and pupils dancing into the afternoon.

“Staff and youngsters had a fantastic day, so much so that pupils are asking for a repeat next year!
