FUN events were held across the borough to support the BBC Children In Need appeal.
Nurseries, schools and workplaces held a wide range of activities to support the good cause. Many children wore spotty or colourful costumes or pyjamas to school, and made Pudsey Bear biscuits Adults joined the fun too.
Michelle Monaghan, who works in the Asda staff canteen in Radcliffe, had her head shaved and raised £160.
The supermarket also held a raffle and tombola, and staff gave donations for wearing yellow clothing.
Later, the staff held a karaoke night at Unsworth Social Club. The day of activities raised £1,500.
More than £1.6 million was raised by people in the North West.
The total registered on Friday night was £20,309,747, with £1,669,005 coming from this region.
Terry Wogan, who presented the charity TV show on Friday night alongside Tess Daly and Alesha Dixon, said: “This year we surpassed all expectations with the amount raised.
“I am in awe that, in these tough times, the British public has shown such tremendous generosity and gone to such extraordinary lengths to help disadvantaged children.”
WALK TEAM: Unsworth Primary School pupils stepped out in style. A group of 16 pupils from a “walking bus” group raised more than £180 by completing a sponsored walk.
CRAZY CLOTHES: Pupils at Woodbank Primary School in Brandlesholme Road, Bury, raised over £400 by selling bookmarks and making cakes and biscuits to sell during a “spotty and stripey” day
