A COUNCILLOR has been banned from driving for 20 months after she was spotted "driving erratically" while over the drink-drive limit.
Councillor Denise Bigg, aged 52, of Claydon Drive, Radcliffe, admitted a charge of driving with excess alcohol when she appeared before Rochdale magistrates this afternoon.
The court heard that two witnesses had seen a Honda car driven by Bigg, who represents Elton ward, veering to the right and then to the left on Bury New Road, Prestwich, around 10pm on November 12 last year.
Bigg told the court she believed the vast majority of the wine she had drunk over a three-hour period was non-alcoholic.
However, she was two-and-a-half times over the limit.
Bigg was also fined £180 and ordered to pay £100 court costs.
