A BURY post office is proving popular for more than sending letters and parcels.
For customers can buy second-hand books at Ainsworth Road post office for just 50p each.
Lesley Franks, who runs the shop, decided to fill a basket with used books and sell them for charity.
Customers liked the idea so much that they started donating their own books too.
The scheme has raised £885 for Bury Hospice in just two years.
Mrs Franks, aged 53, said: “The customers love buying the books. It’s good to recycle them once they’ve been read.”
