Line dance glitz in aid of hospice

A LINE dancing teacher will be doing the triple step and grapevine to raise money for charity.

For Caroline Reid, of Ashcombe Drive, in Bradley Fold, is organising a fundraising line dance at Radcliffe Civic Suite.

She hopes to raise hundreds of pounds for Bury Hospice in memory of her mother, Margaret Smith, who died there in 2004.

Her father, Fred Smith, was also due to be treated there in 2008, but died before he could be moved to the centre in Dumers Lane, Radcliffe.

The event has a glitz and glamour theme and features singer Richard Palmer and DJ John Reid.

Planned to take place at 7.30pm on Friday, March 19, it will be suitable for experienced line dancers.

Caroline, who teaches at the Unitarian Schoolroom in Ainsworth and at Elton Liberal Club, has already sold 130 tickets for the night. She said: “After seeing what my parents went through, I want to raise as much money as possible for the hospice.

“I believe everyone in the later stages of cancer should have access to palliative care. This will be a really good night and is supporting a great cause.”

Tickets for the line dance cost £8 and are available from Caroline by calling 07900 928530.
