A MUM who was reunited with her kidnapped daughter is now locked in a second legal battle so that they can come back to Britain together.
Leila Sabra, aged 32, from Whitefield, is stranded in Egypt after spending seven months fighting to see her daughter A’ishah, aged two.
A’ishah was taken from a cafe in Egypt last May, and Leila’s ex-husband, Saber Mesbah Sabra, was believed to have been involved.
It was only with the help of leading politicians, including Bury South MP Ivan Lewis, that Leila was reunited with A’ishah on January 21.
However, child custody claims made by Mr Sabra have prevented Leila and her daughter coming back to Whitefield.
Leila’s visa bans her from working and legal costs have drained so much of her savings she has had to sell her Whitefield house to pay for it.
Speaking from Egypt, Leila said: “Thankfully, I do have A’ishah back, but we are unable to come back and I have lost my home.
“My ex-husband has put a ban on A’ishah travelling and I am working constantly on custody cases made against me from my ex-husband.
“I am still unable to work yet I am expected to stay until the legal cases have finished.”
