Manchester City fans met two of their heroes when they popped in to a supporters’ meeting in Prestwich last week.
Stars Steven Ireland and Adam Johnson were welcomed by 150 fans at the Heaton Park Social Club where the Prestwich and Whitefield branch of the Manchester City Centenary Supporters Association was holding its first major meeting for several years.
The Ireland midfielder and young England winger autographed shirts and photos, and answered a range of questions from the delighted audience.
Among the fans was Jordan Clarke, aged 12, from Bury, who is a pupil at St Monica’s High School, Prestwich. He said: “I had a brilliant night talking to the players, getting pictures and autographs. And then watching Adam score the equaliser on Sunday at Sunderland was brilliant.”
