Boy robbed of his iPod in side street


A TEENAGE boy was forced from a main road into a side street and robbed in Prestwich.

The 15-year-old victim was walking along Kings Road in Sedgley Park at 8.45pm on March 8 when two teenagers approached him from behind.

The pair grabbed his arms and led him to nearby Rochester Avenue where they took his phone and iPod and searched his pockets.

They then ran off towards Queens Drive.

Police have described the boys as white, slim and aged either 16 or 17.

One of them was covering his face with a balaclava and was wearing a blue and white striped hooded top, The other was wearing a bandana over his face and a grey hooded top.

PC Brett Grange, of Prestwich Police, said: “While the victim was not hurt, he has been left badly shaken by what happened.

“A number of inquiries have been made to trace those responsible and now we are asking for the public’s help.

“We believe there were a number of witnesses in the area and I would appeal for anyone with information to contact us.”
