A TEENAGE illegal immigrant has admitted a string of sex assaults on vulnerable girls and women in Bury after he was caught by CCTV evidence.

Zeeshan Ali, aged 19, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to four charges of sexual assault when he appeared at Bolton Crown Court last Friday.

He was charged with two offences when he was arrested by police following the assaults in July this year but later admitted two others.

The court heard that Ali approached the girls in Bury town centre and forced himself upon them, touching and kissing them.

The first assault happened around 10pm on Saturday, July 3, when the 15-year-old victim was walking down Haymarket Street.

She noticed an Asian man was following her and he approached her in John Street where he put his hand inside her knickers, but the teenager managed to struggle free.

Ali struck again on Monday, July 19, at around 9pm when he assaulted a 32-year-old woman who had just finished work.

He followed her to a bus stop in Bolton Street and offered her £50 to perform a sex act on him.

When she refused, Ali grabbed the victim around her neck and started kissing her.

On Sunday, July 25, at around 9pm, Ali targeted a 16-year-old girl who was sitting on a bench near Kay Gardens.

He asked her intimate and sexual questions before kissing her cheek and grabbing her breasts.

The terrified victim ran off to Bury police station to report the assault and officers sought to view town centre CCTV footage.

Meanwhile, Ali approached another 16-year-old girl walking through Kay Gardens and offered her £10 to perform a sex act on him.

When she refused, he tried to grab hold of her, but police officers arrived on the scene and arrested Ali.

Det Insp Victoria Shaw, of Bury CID, said: “Zeeshan Ali carried out nasty, sexually motivated attacks on women and young girls going about their normal business. He is a public menace and the streets of Bury are a safer place now that he is no longer free to carry out his unprovoked attacks.”

Ali has been remanded in custody until January 7, when he is due to be sentenced at Bolton Crown Court.
