GLOBE-trotting travellers from Bury are being asked to contribute to an Olympic-themed exhibition at Bury Library.

Staff want travellers visiting countries competing in the Games to send them postcards.

They will be added to the display of coins from around the world, linked with the countries’ flags and brief details of their capital cities. It is part of the Olympic-themed programme which won an Inspire mark from London 2012.

The exhibition began yesterday and will run until July.

Councillor Jane Lewis, Bury Council executive member for leisure, tourism and culture, said: “We’re hoping that people will come and see the exhibition and want to get involved. It would be fantastic to receive lots of postcards from around the world because it would add another dimension to the exhibition and, hopefully, it would continue to evolve up to and beyond the Olympics.”

Items can be sent to Elaine Barber, library services customer liaison officer, Radcliffe Library, Stand Lane, Radcliffe, or handed over at any library.
