WITH only two games played in the Lancashire Amateur League Premier Division, Bury GSOB took advantage with a well deserved three points to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Left winger Will Purser provided the best moments of the first half.
His superb cross in the opening 15 minutes nearly saw Bury take the lead, but Alex Lundy shot wide under pressure from 10 yards out.
Purser opened the scoring soon after with a wonderful solo effort from a tight angle. He first took on the full back and powered his way past two more defenders before unleashing an unstoppable shot that was too hot to handle, ending up in the top corner.
Bury were then awarded a penalty when Purser was felled in the box and he duly converted the spot-kick to make it 2-0 at half-time.
The second half was something of a non-event. Bury had a couple of opportunities to extend their lead, and comfortably saw the game out to take the points.
