IT REALLY is a case of Oh What a Night for Bury man Philip Bulcock, one of the stars of the hit-musical Jersey Boys which opened recently in London's West End.
Philip, who hails from Jericho, stars as Nick Massi, a member of the hugely successful Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and has been touring with the critically acclaimed outfit since February.
Critics have lavished praise upon his humorous portrayal of the bass player, a major part of the classic rags to riches' tale of the New Jersey group.
Philip showed a passion for performing arts from an early age, visiting theatres across North Manchester with his father, and gaining a place at National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, where he was the first ever winner, aged just 16, of the Ivy Owen Award for Drama.
He has previously had roles in hit muscials Grease and Elvis - The Musical, and has performed stage roles in Shakespeare plays including Romeo and Juliet.
Speaking to Hit the Theatre about his role, Philip said: "I didn't know a lot about the show, except that it was a massive hit on Broadway.
"I knew more of the songs than I expected, but when I saw it I realised the narrative was one of the best things about it.
"There's a real good feel-factor about the show, it's a life of fun."
