NO wonder a celebrity All Stars football team is “over the moon”.

For Bury-based car care manufacturer Tetrosyl is sponsoring this year’s squad with their CarPlan brand, so there should be fewer on-the-field “breakdowns”.

The All Stars side features many recognisable faces from the world of television, including Bury actor Ralf Little.

The celebrity-packed team, which raises money for a different cause with each match it plays, is made up of well-known names from TV shows including Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale, as well as from music and sport.

Captained by Alan Halsall, who plays Corrie favourite Tyrone Dobbs, the team’s coach is co-star Michael Le Vell.

Marium Ali, group marketing director of Tetrosyl, said: “We’re thrilled to be involved with the All Stars charity. They’re a great bunch of lads and the line-up is ever changing, so it’s a fantastic opportunity for fans to see some of their favourite stars while raising money for some causes that we’re delighted to be supporting.”

The team will play Salford City on Saturday in aid of Macmillan Cancer Research, followed by games in Nantwich on August 5, and Bury on August 10, which is in aid of the Lee Rigby Fund.

Walmersley-based Tetrosyl, started in 1954 by Clifford Schofield, is the biggest manufacturer of car care products in Europe and the largest independent oil blender in the UK. It employs 1,500 people across the UK.
