A GENEROUS youngster has raised £250 for Radcliffe’s new children’s hospice by producing and selling her own CD.

Theatre-mad Caitlin Rose Fitton, aged 12, has been dancing, singing and acting since she was three years old and attends Carol Godby Theatre Workshop in The Rock, Bury.

She was given a recording studio session as a Christmas present last year and over the summer decided to record a three-track CD and donate the proceeds to charity.

Caitlin, from Middleton Junction, sold 100 copies of her CD for £5 each, donating £250 to Grace’s Place and £250 to Francis House children’s hospice in Manchester.

The youngster recorded ‘Beautiful’ by Christina Aguilera, I Dreamed a Dream from the musical Les Miserables, and Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus at Dusty Studios in Heywood.

When she said she wanted to sell it for charity, the staff agreed to produce the CD for free and she sold the copies to friends, family and on social media.

Caitlin, who attends Siddal Moor Sports College, is on the Linton Management books and has done some television work.

Her mum Amanda Murphy said: “Caitlin came up with selling the CD for Francis House because it is for children and it is her school’s charity.

“Then we learned about Grace’s Place starting up, which when it opens will cater for children from our area, so Caitlin decided to sell the CDs for both charities.”

Caitlin and Amanda are currently selling lip balms for Grace’s Place and now plan to travel around pubs with Caitlin performing ‘A song for Grace’ in return for donations.

Amanda added: “Caitlin sees the Grace’s Place fundraising as an ongoing project, and will try her hardest to raise whatever money she can with my help.

“We thank Scott and Alison at Dusty Studios for donating their time to burn all these CDs and arrange the printing.”
