DOGS large and small took the "plunge" to help a Bury hydrotherapy and grooming centre raise money for Labrador Rescue

Wearing life jackets, they enjoyed an invigorating sponsored swim in the hydrotherapy pool while many other canines enjoyed being pampered in the grooming salon.

Thanks to Sunday's event held at Lancashire K9 Hydrotherapy and Grooming Centre, based at the Bolholt industrial estate in Walshaw, more than £800 was raised on the day, and the final amount could be reach the £1,500 mark.

More than 100 dogs took part in the fundraiser.

Nicki Johnson, director of Lancashire K9, said: "The day was a thorough success from start to finish. We managed to pull together specialists in animal care from different disciplines to ensure it was a fantastic day. We were able to showcase the benefits of swimming and hydrotherapy for dogs whilst raising money for such a worthwhile cause."

The hydrotherapy centre rehabilitates dogs recovering after surgery or with medical conditions, and also offers fun swims.
