NEWLY released CCTV images show the dramatic moment robbers burst into a Bury shop, threatening staff with a crowbar and a knife.

Four men with their faces covered attacked the Co-operative store in Walmersley Road, Limefield, at about 9.30pm on March 2, stealing cash and cigarettes.

One of the men forced two staff members into a back room while the other three loaded money and cigarettes into a large turquoise and purple bag.

Police investigating the incident have now put out CCTV stills of the robbers in the hope someone may recognise them and come forward.

Detective Constable Gordon Milne, of Bury CID, said: “We are very keen to speak to anybody who may recognise the men in the images we have released today.

“Although the men have their faces covered making it harder to recognise them, the images show them quite clearly so hopefully somebody may recognise them by their build, clothing or the bag that they have used to take the goods.

“If anybody has any information then I would urge them to please contact the police.”

All four men were white and wearing dark clothing and black face coverings.

The first offender wore a dark grey jacket and trousers, with black gloves, while the robber carrying the knife was wearing all black clothing and gloves.

The man who was carrying the bag of cash and cigarettes was wearing a dark grey hooded top with two stripes on the hood.

The fourth man was wearing a black jacket and dark grey pants with dark gloves which had a white stripe running along the index finger.

The manager at the Co-operative store declined to comment on the attack.
