Man appears in court charged with murder
A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman at a house in Bury.
Earnest Davenport, aged 64, of Rectory Lane, Bury, appeared at Manchester Crown Court today.
He was remanded in custody, and will next appear in court on July 10.
Police were called to the house in Rectory Lane, near Fairfield Hospital on Tuesday, where they found the body of 63-year-old Susan Davenport.
She had suffered stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
