A BURY organisation which supports deaf and hearing impaired people is launching its own fundraising lottery.

Communic8te is in the process of setting up a 208 Club to help raise funds for the charity.

The club is open to everyone aged 16 and over, and one number can be purchased for £2 per month and more can be bought, subject to availability.

Half the money collected goes directly to Communic8te Bury, with the remaining money providing four equal prizes each month.

Sue Furby, Communic8te fundraiser, said: "Our aim is to have all 208 numbers taken up. This would then increase the monthly prize figure."

Communic8te Bury provides essential befriending services to deaf and hearing impaired people throughout Bury to reduce isolation and increase confidence. They also offer British Sign Language and lip reading courses to improve communication, equipment help and hearing aid battery provision, signposting and guidance services as well as training, employment support and advocacy.
