VOLUNTEERS from the Prince’s Trust have carried out renovation work on a Bury church.
The team of youngsters carried out the nine-day community project at St George’s Church, in Hollins Lane, Unsworth, after raising £200 to help buy equipment.
The group gave a new coat of paint to the church railings and dug up and relayed turf in order to extend a memorial area for urns to be placed in.
Team member Stacey Cosgrove said: “I really enjoyed working within a team and learning new skills. It was great to see what a transformation we had made at the end of the project.
“The church owner and reverends were very pleased with our good work.”
