FAMILIES are flocking to Bury to be immersed into an enchanting carnival world.
The Lost Carnival, an ambitious, large-scale, outdoor theatre experience, is being held at Burrs Country Park for the first time.
It opened on Friday and runs tomorrow, Sunday and bank holiday Monday.
Expect spellbinding theatre, circus, music and visual trickery from Wild Rumpus, a new producing company established by Bury Met director David Agnew.
A highlight is the world premiere of the Marie Celestial, a giant, walking pan-galactic circus beast, making its debut in Bury before it tours to Glastonbury and other festivals across the country
Focused around a massive, beating iron heart, it mutates with mechanical transformations, pyrotechnic effects, dynamically changing light and sound.
The Lost Carnival will appear in Burrs Country Park in Bury tonight, tomorrow, Sunday and Monday, from 4pm until 9pm. Tickets cost £10 per person (under 3s go free), with the audience entering on timed tickets.
Carnival goers should dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Tickets are available from thelostcarnival.org.uk.
