Woman hurt in motorway smash near Simister Island
A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a car crash on the motorway.
She was driving along the southbound M66 motorway near junction 4 near Simister Island at 10am today.
Three cars were involved in the smash and fire crews had to force open the door of the woman's car to get her out.
She was treated for shock and minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
A lane of the motorway was closed for 45 minutes while the vehicles were recovered.
